Migration to Australia under the Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) Migration to Australia has been developed for the purpose of allowing Australian employers to recruit permanent and highly skilled overseas labour where they have been unable to fill a vacancy from within the Australian labour market or through employee training programs.
From 1st July 2010 the new ENS occupation list will be in effect for the purposes of approval of all applications for employer nominated visas. The occupations listed on the new ENS have not changed from the previous ENS but all are referenced to ANZSCO rather than ASCO. The updated ENS occupation list specifies ANZSCO occupation codes (replacing ASCO codes), location, base annual salaries and relevant assessing authorities for all occupations relevant to the Employer Nomination Scheme.
Notably, the Minister has updated Australian Minimum salaries for employer nominated positions. The minimum salary for ENS employees has now risen from AUD $45,220 to AUD $47,480 and for higher trained positions in the Information Technology field, from AUD $61,690 to AUD $65,020.
