The State Government of Victoria has given advanced notice that their State Migration Plan has been signed and applications under the State Migration Plan will be open from 3 November 2010.

The Victorian State Migration Plan list for the 176 and 475 visas includes a number of occupations from the broader Schedule 4 Skilled Occupation List which are not available on the new Schedule 3 Skilled Occupation List.  The demand for Victorian State Sponsorship under their State Migration Plan is expected to be fierce when the online applications open on Wednesday, particularly for many of the more general occupations and trades which were speculated to be out of the running for State Sponsorship.

The State Migration Plan requires at least a minimum of 2 years work experience and in many cases specific IELTS test results to obtain Victorian State Sponsorship.  In addition, the Victorian State Migration Plan specifies particular specialisations for each occupation on the Victorian eligibility list.

With places limited to 4500 (including primary and secondary family applicants), and each occupation also subject to limits, the State of Victoria will most certainly expect State Sponsorship places to be filled in record times when State Migration Plan applications open on Wednesday morning.
